Broking stalwarts launch Vizion venture

Former Bluefin CEO and chairman Chris Blackham and Chubb high net worth expert John Sims have combined forces to launch Vizion Insurance Brokers.

The broking venture aims to provide a regulated platform for brokers who want to start up their own business, and have their own equity and a clearly defined exit route.

The duo have brought Kennedys partner Trevor Davies on as a third member of the leadership team, along with ex-England rugby star centre and TV pundit Jeremy Guscott.

Guscott will work as a development director, charged with bringing new producers and clients on board.

Vizion will have three broker partners at launch, George Seatter, a high net worth specialist, Russell Sessions, a financial lines specialist and ultra-high net worth expert Jonathan Topple.

Sims commented: "We decided some time ago that an opportunity presented itself to build a home for brokers who are frustrated with working in an environment where their endeavours are not recognised or appropriately rewarded.

"We are already attracting interests from all sectors, including commercial as well as high net worth and property owners."

Blackham added: "The fact that, as a team, we have a deep knowledge and understanding of our industry and the challenges facing brokers means we can offer a lot more than, say, a bank or venture capitalist. We are determined to collaborate as true partners with those that join Vizion."
